Day
36: Easter Sunday – the Easter Bunny came to the apartment & so the girls
had fun on an Egg Hunt around our communal garden. Had a great family lunch – 4
generations together.
Day
35: Went to movies at Gateway with the girls to see “Beauty & the Beast”.
Huge buckets of popcorn & slushies, for everyone. Loved the movie – so here
is Belle in her pretty yellow dress (in miniature).
Day
34: Got home to the apartment - piles of washing! So had a day at home. I was
wondering what I was going to stitch? Then we had the most spectacular lightening
display over the sea. Once again my stitches do not do the display justice, but
I had fun trying.
Day
33: We went to the Butterfly Dome at Mac Banana’s –listen to a young man who
told us all about butterflies from the tiny eggs under the leaves to the
wonderful coloured butterflies flying around us. The girls had great fun
finding all the different types of butterflies.
Day
32: Eva & Amber got up very early to walk down to the beach to watch the
sun rise with my son - my bed had to strong a hold on me. So when they came
back with shells and snails they had caught it was great fun to hold the slimy
snails in our hands before returning them top the sea. A small pale pink shell
in stitches – today.
Day
31: Got back from the Triple P – only to unpack & re-pack as we are going
down the South Coast to San Lameer for a few days with our family. Tried to
stitch the pile of cases and bags. Looking forward to a few days with the
grand-daughters.
Day
30: Had a great Campfire with everyone on the Triple P taking part – Badger &
Sarge came up to the Vuleka Centre to lead the Campfire. My stitches do not do
the wonderful fire & flames justice. So great to hear our voices singing
out the familiar Scouting songs. I’ve add some photos of the people &
activities at Triple P.
Day
29: Feeling very guilt about my Carbon Footprint & all the trees that went
into my great piles of paper. Can’t plant a tree in my apartment block so did
the next best thing – planted two Honeysuckle Bushes in pots in our communal garden.
Photos of the real thing and my stitching of it.
Day
28: Ok, so today’s the last day before the weekend away at Vuleka Centre, in
Botha’s Hill with 25 other crazy Pack Scouters for lots of fun & laughter.
I have piles of paper to take with me for – Scavenger Hunt, Journals, Trading
Cards, Scouts Own & so on. Me under a huge pile of paper.
Day
27: As an Explorer when you get to the place you were looking for e.g. Fountain
of Youth. – You need a flag to plant and claim it for your country. So each
group of Explorers need to design they own flag. Will put photos of flags when
I get them.
Day
26: Continuing with getting ready for the Triple P (Playful
Pack Scouters Palaver).
If you are an Explorer you need to know how to use a compass – so busy
preparing a Compass Base – where Pack Scouters will follow a 10 point compass
and also learn how to find directions without a compass – lots of fun. So one
small compass in stitches – the red needle of the compass will always point
North.
Day
25: I’ve been working on a Scouting Event called the Triple P for Pack Scouters
in KZN. The theme is Explorers – so everyone will need to make a pouch to put
some food rations in. Here are photos of the real thing – closed and then open
as a small picnic cloth. Then of course I had to stitch one.
Day
24: Working on a problem, not getting anywhere fast! My brain feels foggy &
slow, every which way I turn there seems to be a fence or a block of some kind.
So here is a row of herringbone stitches – blocking my way forward. Going to
take time out on the problem. See what comes up in a day or two.
Day 21: Sleep
over with the girls had great fun lying on our 3rd floor garden with artificial grass, watching the clouds blowing
across the dark sky with stars disappearing and reappearing and the bright
crescent moon shining through the clouds. Two little girls laying watching the night sky.
Day 20: Very
slow drive into the office today coming to a stop on the Freeway - so we are
able to see the wild flowers growing on the side of the road - here is a bright
pink one - not sure of its name will try to find out.
Day 19: Amber
(other grand-daughter) came to office for the afternoon to work as my assistant
at the end of the day I got this question: “Granny are you going to pay me for
my work?” so she got R 10 for all her hard work.
Day 18: Went
to watch Eva (my grand-daughter) at her school house gala she won every race
and also took part in the winning relay to help win the cup for her house. Go
Morwood. So you got a tiny silver cup.
Day 17: Woke
up very early still dark & got a cup of coffee to sit outside on balcony to
watch the sun come up over the sea unfortunately we are losing our sea view as
more and more tall buildings go up in Umhlanga.
PS: Just haven't had time to post but did manage the stitches.
